A New Order Rising
* The Creator Above All – Took aspects of himself and created Gods from them to create and destroy.
• There have been many Aspects, they rise and fall in popularity and with that their power.
* 9 Main Aspects
o Moradin – Characteried as a Kha’dan – He is said to watch over governments of the world. Promoting law and order in all he does. – His belief of order even covers the act of death itself. – Those who seek eternal life or undeath will find a foe in Moradin. One of the oldest Aspects to remain in a position of power, it is believed he was elevated after The Creator witnessed his Kha’dan meet for their first council of elders discussing who would inherit a great merchants wealth after he passed. Moradin was there to oppose the merchant buying his immortality.
o Amai – Seen as a Velerosi woman clad in battle garments. – Amai was a general of an army who fought to free a lost race from slavery. With valiant efforts and noble cause, she succeeded only to be disappointed as the opposing side unleashed uncontrolled magic to ravage the battlefield. Amai died that day. When word of her just acts reached the ears of the old Velerosi’ Empire, she became venerated eventual attaining Aspect status. Her domains include Warfare, The Righteous, and Careful watch over the forces of Magic.
o Kelden – Appears as a hooded figure. His origins are unknown. – As long as there have been families settled on land abiding by the ways of nature, there has been Kelden. Seen as a protector of Family and Hearth, he also guards over nature both domesticated and wild. At various times has been in conflict with many other Aspects, both current and past.
o Belandra – Depicted as one of the slight folk – Most tales revolve around Belandra playing a trick or prank on those around her to teach them a moral. Entertainment and lightheartedness seems to be what her true followers value most. The articles following her worship only started to appear a few hundred years ago.
o Krink – Always shown as a massive humanoid with only one of his eyes – Something primal deep in the hearts of most Dorwinians calls to them upon seeing a visage of Krink. He stands for all the basest desires “civilized” folk choose to bury or ignore. None have latched onto Krink like the Uruk have. Modeling their society after his image. A tale that tells a great deal about Krink is often repeated. When the mortal races were still young and numerous, several peoples began to settle and store up great amounts of food and valuables. A tribe long forgotten decided they wanted the spoils for themselves. Without a thought or plan, They went in to take what they claimed was now theirs. To the villages horror Krink appeared to aid them in this cause. Soon the survivors mourned and wept for their loss. A young boy in one village saw his broken father and snuck out of the village. He found the assailants over their loot. He grabbed a broken branch and without a thought or a plan, attacked. Much to the surprise of the raiders, Krink entered the boy and made and avatar of primal rage. That boy died that day but not of mortal wounds. He slew all of the assailants then collapsed from the rage burning his insides from within.
o Traveller – An old cloaked man – The Traveler is no Aspect. Or, that is what the Velerosi say. He simple walked through a hole in the sky and began his journey around the world. Known to grant freedom to those who truly value it. A fable tells of a man who followed the Traveler. After many years he split of his path and began his own. Soon he gained a disciple of his own. Together they found a Baron who had enslaved nearly his entire population. The man said to his disciple our journey now has purpose. They traveled the country side. Freeing many men from their chains. Preaching that freedom is the most important thing anyone could possess. Further stating that no man could hold you if you let freedom into your heart. Eventually the Baron could bare no more. He captured the preacher. Placed him and his disciple into shackles chained to a wall in a tower on a cliff with guards at all times. The disciple asked “Is this the end of our journey?” The man responded with a simple shake of his head. After weeks of torture the Baron approached his prisoners. "I shall show you that I can hold anyone I please and your Aspect can do nothing of it. Years past in isolation as even the disciple began to lose hope. Yet the man simply stood and accepted any punishment given to him. Finally the disciple broke and cried out “How can you not feel this pain and suffering?!” The Baron entered. “I have bound you and broken you. I control your freedom!” The man looked at them both and said “My heart is free from such trivial restraints.” At that, he moved through the metal of his shackles and pulled his disciple through his chains as well. With that he walked through the wall and off into the air over the sea. The Baron stood and watched as he now felt chained to the ground.
* The Dark Three:
Shadow – Appears as a black form of whoever looks upon it. – Having ascended through dark ritual and murder, The other aspects quickly tried to suppress this new god. Due to the Shadow’s great number of followers and power gained from every dark intent or motive, they only managed to strike his name from history. Some say many Shadows have existed continuously replacing the last through pain and suffering.
Mockery – Seen as a deformed version of those it speaks with – Lies, Deceit, and Trickery flow from and power this dark Aspect. The chronicles of the Velerosi library hold a tale of how this creature came to be. When the first Dragon used cunning and decided to twist it’s words and intent the dragon yelled out in pain. As the dragon immolated itself, out walked the very man who had just held a conversation with a dragon. The two men looked upon each other. One had a sinister look in his eye and spoke, " I will be the real one now." With that the original man was struck down with a replica of his father’s old sword.
Asmodias – Preferring to be seen as a large human with horns. One of the older aspects. He was once a merchant of great wealth. Always known for his honesty and good business nature. When his time to die came, he appears before a council of peers to discuss what would be done with his wealth after he left this world. When the council could not agree on who to give it to he brokered a deal. For a piece of each person on the council’s soul he would split his fortune between them. Only Moradin opposed this deal. Each willingly gave up parts of their souls using old magics. They lived the rest of their lives in lavish ways. But this merchant never passed and lived on the dealings he had made with friends. When each member of the council passed on their souls went into the Merchant. the last few begged Moradin for a way out but he could not help they had agreed to the deal. A soul cannot be split in the afterlife. After the last on died the Merchant rose to become Asmodias. The other aspects tried to remove his name so he might be forgotten like the Mockery and the Shadow. But Asmodias was smart and made deals with mortals to never forget him. Thus his name lived on.
